Stay is a private-pay agency: you receive a clear hourly rate and an itemized monthly statement, with no hidden coordination fees. Many Calgary families pair private care with public or benefit-based support — for example Alberta Health Services home care hours, Alberta Seniors Benefit income support, Veterans Affairs coverage, or a private insurance / extended health plan. We can provide the detailed invoices and service records those programs ask for, and our care team will walk you through what typically qualifies. We don't bill AHS directly, and we always recommend confirming your specific eligibility with AHS or your benefits provider.

Are your Health Care Aides insured and background-checked?

Yes. Every caregiver is 100% background cleared before their first shift — a current police information check with vulnerable sector screening, verified credentials (such as Government of Alberta Health Care Aide certification), reference checks, and current First Aid and CPR. Stay carries liability coverage for care arranged through our team, and caregivers work under our supervision, policies, and documented non-medical scope of practice.

What happens if our primary caregiver is unavailable or sick?

You are never left without support. Each family is introduced to a small, consistent care circle, so if your primary companion is ill or away, a caregiver who already knows your loved one's care plan, routines, and preferences steps in. Our coordinators arrange the coverage and let you know in advance whenever possible — you don't need to find a replacement yourself.

Is there a long-term commitment or cancellation policy?

No long-term contract is required. Care is arranged in flexible ongoing schedules that you can adjust as needs change. We simply ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an individual visit so the caregiver's time can be reassigned, and about two weeks' notice to pause or end ongoing service. There are no cancellation penalties for hospitalizations or emergencies.
